The Rio Grande County Museum will be hosting "Reflections in Joy," a photography exhibit by Candace Knowlan. The exhibit will be on display February 27th - March 26th, 2016 with the opening reception on Saturday, March 5th from 1:30 - 4pm. Knowlan is an award winning photographer and a graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in Cultural anthropology. She is self-taught as an oil painter when she was in her teens, then moved to other mediums. In 2010, Knowlan discovered photography which has now become her passion. Knowlan's exhibit marks the opening for the Museum's 2016 Spring/Summer season. On April 9, 2016, Craig Lehman will open the Museum's 2nd spring show with an exhibit of bronze and steel sculptures and other pieces of art work. This show will run until the middle of May. Craig Lehmann is contemporary sculptor with a long career. His sculptures have a unique and recognizable style. His work has a quiet, mystical and peaceful quality. Craig finds a balance between intuition and intellect…a precarious place…where there lies a subtle and stoic beauty. After a traditional academic art education Craig received a Master’s Degree in sculpture. From there he began a twenty year career where he worked in all phases of sculpture production.
